I kind of ...well ...I'm having trouble getting the whole "take a year off life and sail around the world" thing out of my head.
I've decided on a catamaran, maybe a 30 footer. I've seen them for 12k, of course for a trip like I am thinking 30k and some elbow juice will have to be put into it. Here are some pictures of some cheaper ones. Boat porn. Never mind I couldn't post them. Here is a post I put on facebook, mainly because I just played Frisbee for 2 hours and have the "runners high" deal along with the euphoria of a few beers........

Say you have this friend that got lucky and was able to buy this catamaran sail boat, maybe one similar to (the one pictured below)......So this guy who may be a little fresh at sailing, but has this dream to kind of hang out for a year or two with some great friends maybe tag teaming along as he can find them. Ok so this guy is wanting to kind of explore Southeast Asia, Malaysia, New Guinea, and some other really cool but hopefully inexpensive places. This guy w...ill have most likely not much money, because his dream is a bit expensive. Would you fly to some crazy location, where this guy would pick you up in a stolen/borrowed car and take you and yours out exploring the seas for say $500 a week, maybe $700 for two (not counting food and any bribery fees for any prison time) on said sailboat? I mean...say you know this guy....

The Iroquois 30 is a very stable and well-handled sailboat, and with its shallow draft it can easily be sailed to lesser known keys.
